Mostly plants. That’s the undeniable design theme found in the East Williamsburg loft of Ivan Martinez and Christan Summers. First and foremost, the home is brimming with vegetation, but it also contains a few lovely vintage furniture pieces and a handful of kitschy knickknacks.

“No clutter, no unnecessary objects that collect too much dust. If you take away all the plants, this place is pretty empty,” Summers recently told Design Sponge.

Summers and Martinez are the creators of Tula, a plantscaping company with a greenhouse on wheels and a love of handmade clay pots.

And the couple’s work has clearly spilled over into their 930-square-foot home. The double-height living room is dominated by greenery, and the second-level mezzanine is filled with Tula’s latest collection of custom terra-cotta pots.

The geenhouse-like abode drives home a notable fact: When it comes to interior design, plants pack a punch.
