Wall Treatments You'll Want For Your Bedroom

Since master bedrooms are usually calm, soothing spots, paint schemes tend to be subtle, neutral or monochromatic. Which means that texture is needed to save your brain from thinking the space is flat and boring. Walls are the perfect canvas to play around with different materials to achieve a surface that varied and interesting to the eye. Hoard all these good ideas (which are also DIY-able) for your own personal private chamber, and make it a worthy retreat from the rest of the world.


Plywood sheets wrap partially around the bedroom at an Australian residence designed by sister design duo, Yasmine Ghoniem and Katy Svalbe of Amber Road. It's both modern and a do-able alternative to a headboard.


A unique wall treatment from Walls, the Best of Decorative Treatments by Florence de Dampierre. Handpainted lines mimic traditional wall molding, giving it a sophisticated yet still playful look.


Karwei shares an easy DIY project that's both statement wall, headboard, and storage all in one. Painting it white prevents the room from looking too disjointed and chaotic.


This bedroom is actually part of a retail store called The Apartment by the Line. But I love the oddly narrow strip of decorative detail at the base of the wall. It adds just enough texture and interest to an otherwise all white space.
